Chief Engineer
The chief engineer is ultimately responsible for the operation of the vessel’s machinery and negotiates with the shipping company, the deck officers, supervisors, and others on matters within his or her area of responsibility.
Education
A suitable qualification is a Bachelor of Engineering (UAS) degree. The education provides broad competence for tasks in the field both on land and at sea.
