Chief Officer / Duties and Workplaces
The chief officer is responsible, in part, for the planning and operational management of the vessel’s internal activities. The work of the chief officer focuses especially on planning and managing cargo operations, as well as continuously monitoring and maintaining the seaworthiness of the vessel.
Education
A chief officer usually holds a Master Mariner qualification.
