Ship’s Cook, Pantry Steward
A ship’s cook works in the vessel’s galley. The work includes preparing both cold and hot dishes, as well as everyday and festive meals. A pantry steward specializes in the preparation and presentation of cold dishes. Starters on passenger ships are often prepared by the pantry steward.
Education
Vocational qualification in the hotel and restaurant sector, study programme in restaurant food production, restaurant cook. In addition, safety training required in the maritime sector is mandatory.
