The Maritime League aims to act as a connecting link within Finland’s maritime cluster and, when needed, to support maritime activities and related fields that benefit from broader cooperation. The maritime sector requires collaboration in order to make more effective use of shared interests.
The League’s membership primarily consists of representatives from shipping, shipowners, ports, maritime services, shipbuilding, marine industry, marine research and maritime defence, as well as individuals with an interest in maritime matters. The League has approximately 200 individual members and around forty organizational members.
Membership is open to individuals and organizations approved by the Board. Members pay an annual membership fee determined by the Annual General Meeting. For 2025, the membership fee is €35 for individual members and €200 for organizational members (non-profit associations €100). The membership fee includes, as a member benefit, the Navigator newsletter distributed approximately once a month. A youth membership fee of €5 is available for those aged up to 35 without the annual Navigator publication. Members are entitled to participate, usually free of charge, in events organized by the League throughout the year. Most events take place in the Helsinki metropolitan area.
